I love to use this dressing to make my vegan caesar salad topped with crunchy roasted chickpeas. You can also use it to drizzle over your favourite salad combos, bliss bowls, roasted veggies and more.

I’ve no doubt that you’re going to love this creamy and simple salad dressing! It’s so easy to whip together and it’s a salad dressing recipe that you can feel good about eating.

In my opinion, this homemade dressing is SO much tastier than store bought brands.

I’ve never had much success with finding a good vegan brand when it comes to caesar dressing; and I’ve tried my fair share. If you’re interested, here is a list of top favourite vegan caesar dressing brands from Peta. (Perhaps I’m a tad more picky than them – as I have tried many on the list. But this homemade version is the best! Plus, it’s SO easy to make my recipe).

Is caesar dressing vegan?

Typically, caesar dressing isnot vegan. It’s made with anchovies, egg, and parmesan cheese. All-in-all, the ingredient list is not vegan, nor comprised of the healthiest ingredients. After all, we don’t usual think of caesar salad as being a healthy salad.

This salad dressing however is made with wholesome ingredients that you can feel good about tossing your greens in! The recipe is comprised of tahini, dijon mustard, lemon juice, sea salt, pepper and water. It’s so simple and healthy!

The result is a creamy, velvety and tangy dressing. I’ve served this to vegans and vegan skeptics and everyone loves this blend! Trust me when I say there is no compromise on flavour with this healthy dressing.

Making this dressing couldn’t be easier! Simply add all the ingredients into a small bowl and whisk together to combine.

Can this salad dressing be prepared in advance?

Absolutely! You can prepare this vegan salad dressing up to 5 days in advance.

I will note. however, that the dressing becomes less tangy over time. Although still delicious, you might like to add a squeeze more of the lemon juice before serving if preparing in advance.

How long does this vegan caesar dressing keep?

This recipe will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days. Store in an air-tight container or in a glass jar.

Add a splash of water to thin as desired if you find that the dressing has become thicker from refrigerating.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup tahini
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp dijon mustard
  • 1/8 tsp fine sea salt
  • 1 clove garlic , finely chopped (optional)
  • pinch pepper

Instructions

  • In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the tahini, water, lemon juice, dijon mustard, sea salt, garlic and pepper. Optional to add splashes more water (1 tbsp at a time) to thin if desired.

This recipe makes about 1/2 cup of salad dressing.

Recipe will keep for up to 5 days and can be prepared in advance. Store in the fridge in an air-tight container or glass jar.

Tanginess can fade if preparing in advance. Optional to add a splash more lemon juice to the mixture before serving if you like it tangy.
