15/06/2024 – Le tournoi de Tashkent accueillait, en plus du héros local et actuel n°5 mondial Abdusattorov, 7 autres joueurs à plus de 2700. Les Ouzbeks Sindarov et Yakubboev complétant le bas du tableau. Or au terme des 9 rondes, c'est ce dernier qui l'emporte grâce à un Sonnenborn-Berger légèrement supérieur à son compatriote Abdusattorov! On se rappelle que les deux compères avaient déjà conduit leur équipe nationale au sommet avec la médailles d'or obtenue lors des dernières Olympiades. L'Elo de Yakubboev est resté étonnamment bas (2634), si l'on se souvient qu'il a de surcroît remporté le Qatar Masters 2023, déjà avec un meilleur départage que son dauphin Abdusattorov et loin devant les favoris Carlsen et Nakamura!

12/05/2024 – Bien qu'il ait entamé la dernière journée de blitz à 2½ points du seul leader Wei Yi, Le Grand (Magnus) Carlsen a remporté 7 victoires consécutives (il avait terminé la session du samedi avec 3 victoires) pour dépasser le GM chinois et finalement remporter la victoire au combiné du Superbet Rapid & Blitz de Varsovie.
