My approach

I use a combination of creativity, curiosity, and playfulness to share what I know about how our minds work. Through evidenced-based approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I'll teach you skills that will help you reach your goals in a healthy and effective way.

My focus

Couples and individuals who struggle with difficult thoughts and emotions are who I love to work with. I am especially passionate about people who want to learn new ways to manage stress and build improved relationship satisfaction.

My communication style

Sessions with me may feel like attending a class designed just for you where you will learn about something you actually want to learn about - how to get better. You let me know what you are interested in learning about and I'll find ways to share useful information in ways that are engaging and easier to remember. Whenever I can and when it is appropriate, I try to make sessions feel playful. Not every meeting will feel light and fluffy, but some well-placed humor can go a long way.

My journey to mental healthcare

I think our minds are wonderful and often frustrating things that can feel confusing and awkward. Once we learn more about how our minds work, it becomes much easier to handle the sometimes weird and ridiculous things they throw at us. I love teaching people skills for responding to their difficult thoughts in new, healthy ways.

My goals for you

I help clients design goals that are measurable and attainable. I always want you to know what we are working toward and how to tell if we are getting any closer to the finish line.

My first session with you

The first session is about getting some background information, but more importantly, it's the opportunity I use to learn where you are trying to go from here. I use our first meeting to start designing our treatment goals so, that no matter what has happened to you in the past, you can build strategies to get to the future you want to live in. I am just as interested in your future and where you are trying to go.
